Festive Feasters

As a church we seek to “bear each other’s burdens and share each other’s joys.” What better way than by sharing a meal? Festive Feasters is a way for members and friends who worship together to get to know one another on a social level.

People sign up as individuals, couples, pairs, or families and are placed in a Festive Feaster group. The first person or couple in a group hosts the meal for the first month, calling the others to set up a date and time. The host often prepares the main dish, and others provide salads, vegetables, desserts, etc. Host responsibilities then rotate over the coming months, and then the group dissolves. There are no set rules. Groups can meet in many ways. Some hosts may invite the group to their home; others organize a picnic in the park or a restaurant for a Dutch-treat meal. Sometimes its breakfast, sometimes lunch or dinner.

Contact the church office if you want to join a group.

Women of the Church - Annual rummage sale

Women of the Church

All women are welcome to be part of the activity and service of Women of the Church. This organization is a streamlined successor to the “Women’s Fellowship” of old. We have quarterly meetings and other special events such as the Christmas Tea. We still provide some of the traditional ministries of hospitality, such as preparing and serving family dinners for funeral and memorial services at the church, or helping with wedding receptions and showers. Women of the Church also serves dinners for the American Association of University Women as a fundraiser for our organization. We serve the church in a variety of ways, and in all of it we do our best to have fun.

Lunch Bunch

An activity of Women of the Church but open to everyone, the Lunch Bunch dines at a selected restaurant on the first Wednesday of each month. It’s a chance to relax and enjoy good food and fellowship. And remember guys, Lunch Bunch is not just for women! Contact the church office for the next time and place.

Progressive Book Club

A Progressive Christian Book Club meets on the second Tuesday of the month to discuss a book chosen by the group. The book club meets from Noon to 1:00 P.M. in Stateroom #3 at the food court of the KSU Student Union. We start our discussion at 12:10 and end by 12:50. This gives us time to get our food beforehand and get back to our offices or other obligations by 1:00. For more information about current book club meetings, contact the church office.

Rainbow Table

Rainbow Table is a fellowship group for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Christians. Potluck dinners, outings, and other social events are planned by group consensus. Rainbow Table works with other local groups on service and educational projects in the community.
